Marselan, Bel Serrat
IGP Coteaux de Peyriac (red wine)
Marselan is a variety created from Grenache and Cabernet-Sauvignon in Languedoc-Roussillon. Yet it did not spread before 1990 for its yield is naturally low. Little berries, little bunches of grapes: the proportion is favorable to the flesh over the juice. The Grenache dominates the blend with its Mediterranean flavours while Cabernet-Sauvignon underlines its tannic structure with elegance. It is original and shows characteristics aromas of red currant.
